What Is Honda Sensing?

Many standard and available features are a part of the Honda Sensing suite, which allows drivers to customize their driving experience fully. Here are some common features included in this suite of technologies:
Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
This system automatically applies pressure when the radar and camera detect an unavoidable collision. This works alongside other features such as a vibrating acceleration pedal, visual and audio alerts, and a vibrating steering wheel that can help drivers avoid collisions in the first place. This system also helps reduce the impact caused by collisions.
You can use this system by pressing the safety support switch, moving the left-selected wheel to the CMBS symbol, and choosing this system. Once activated, a beep will sound, and a message indicating that the system is engaged will appear.
Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) System
This helpful system adjusts your steering and braking if you cross lanes without signaling, such as if you're drifting into another lane. It does this through small cameras that monitor road markers. Then, if it detects you're passing these road markers without signaling, it alerts you through visual and audio alerts along with vibrating the steering wheel.
If you don't respond, the system automatically steers your vehicle back onto the road or into your lane and applies the brakes if needed. Similar to the CMBS, to engage the RDM system, all you do is choose it from the safety support switch menu.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive cruise control lets you take the stress out of those long car rides out of York, Pennsylvania. It uses a radar system to maintain a set distance behind detected vehicles. This allows you to maintain a safe cruise control speed while also keeping safe. You can adjust the set following interval to one of four preset distances — extra-long, long, middle, and short. If a car enters that interval, your vehicle will automatically decrease its speed to maintain that safe distance. It'll resume your set speed once the vehicle has left that space.
Lane-Keeping Assist System
This system helps you remain centered in your driving lane and can adjust your steering slightly if it detects you drifting out of your lane without signaling. It does this through a monocular camera that detects solid and broken lines on the road. If it detects lane drift, it alerts the driver by vibrating the steering wheel.
Other Honda Sensing Features
